Welcome to my Soulo Journey

Welcome to my Soulo Journey.
Here is where I share my SoulArt while Caravan'ing through the Desert of the Page to the Oasis of Creativity.
You are welcome to share and leave a note under a nearby palm for me to find.
Blessing on your Journey also.

AJC 2011 Itinerary 18: Verb: ACHIEVE

AJC 2011 Itinerary 18: ACHIEVE
On May 2/11, I exercised my right as a Canadian ‘person’ to vote.
This is my tribute to those who through their beliefs and achievement made it possible.
The top left corner is a composite photo of the Valiant Five
In 1928 these women successfully fought for the right of all Canadian women to be deemed as ‘persons’ in the eyes of law (after the Supreme Court of Canada said ‘no’) and convinced the British Judicial Council of the fact.
(No mean feat!)
They are:
Emily Murphy (the British Empire's first female judge);
Irene Marryat Parlby (farm women's leader, activist and first female Cabinet minister in Alberta);
Nellie Mooney McClung (a famous suffragist and member of the Alberta legislature)
Louise Crummy McKinney (the first woman elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, or any legislature in Canada or the British Empire)
Henrietta Muir Edwards (an advocate for working women and a founding member of the Victorian Order of Nurses).
Because of what the ‘Famous Five’ accomplished, other Canadian women were able to achieve the following:
Small black and white photo: Eileen Day – Canada’s First Aviatrix
Lower left black and white photo: Marion Orr: First Female Flying School Instructor and WWII ferry pilot.
Her favourite plane to fly was the Spitfire!
Colour photo centre: Captain (now Major Ret.) Dee Brasseur:
one of two First Female Fighter pilots (F-18’s) in the world.
Right top: Dr Roberta Bondar: Canada’s First Female Astronaut, First Neurologist In Space
and First Girl Guide in Space (she even took a box of Girl Guide cookies on her trip!)

Here under the Sheltering Palm, may you find parchment, fresh quill and ink. Scrawl a note and leave it there for me to find. Thank you and a Blessed Journey to you also.
